It's been a while....

Created this with the SSS Monday Challenge AND the SSS Flickr challenge in mind. I recycled some plastic packaging to cut the wings on this piece. Added some alcohol ink and put together a little DIY Valentine decor!

Add a die cut....

I have a couple of birthday's this month so I decided to go to the Simon Say's stamp blog for some inspiration. The Wednesday challenge was "add a die cut".

I just happened to have several of the word "happy" on my desk from a previous project so I layered them up and added them to this card.  I also used another one of the marbled backgrounds I had made a while back. (I linked to the video from Jennifer McGuire in my previous post.)

I used my distress oxides to color in the flowers and leaves and added some wink of stella to the flowers.

Hope your having an amazing day, thanks for stopping by!

Alcohol Ink Marbling.....

A few weeks ago Jennifer McGuire did a blog post on marbling and I was so excited to try it. Her post is here.  After I did several sheets I set them aside to dry, put them away and totally FORGOT all about them, ha!

I saw the Anything goes theme on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and thought why not, it's been a while and I needed to get inspired.

So here are a couple of cards I came up with.

I hope this one isn't to feminine, I will be giving it to my husband for Valentine's day.

If you found your way here, thanks for stoping by!!

Here are a group of thank you cards I made using the new Distress Oxide inks. I absolutely LOVE heat embossing with this ink!!! The colors are so vibrant and the clear embossing powder really intensifies the look!

Why Missions, Why Ecuador....why now??

Why Missions, Why Ecuador, Why now…. Well why not!!

Hey Everyone,

First of all I want to say thank you! Thanks for taking the time to read my fist email.  (If you missed it please see below) I also want you to know, if your receiving this email it’s because you have touched our lives in some way over the years. You have made an impact on our lives.

Some of you have asked the question, Why??? What are you doing?? So, I decided I would take a few minutes to tell you. I will also try to communicate over the next several months about our journey so if you do not wish to continue receiving correspondence, please feel free to reply and I will remove you from the list J

So here it is again, Why missions, Why Ecuador, Why now….

We have never been on a mission’s trip. We may never go again, but I know this much I want to see what it’s all about. See how God will show up in my life through this experience.

I love that our church helped the people in the community of San Jose de Cameron build a church of their very own. With a Pastor from their own community. We shared in this and plan to continue a relationship with this church for many years to come.

We have a child we sponsor in that very community, that we have the opportunity, to get to know, to encourage, to watch her grow and thrive. I want to spend a day with her at the park, braid her hair, push her on the swings.  I want her to know there is a family on the other side of the letters she receives that thinks about her and pray for her.  I want her Mom to know we care about her also, that I too was once a single mom and I know how difficult that can be. And it was my faith in God that got me through it all and still does. I want to learn all the things we have in common.

I don’t know where you are on your thoughts about God but I know this, He can, He will AND He wants to do incredible things in our lives. So, for that reason we are gonna step out and see what He has planned for us.

Please consider partnering with us …
·       By keeping us and our trip in your thoughts and prayers.
·       By spreading the word that I am fundraising through the sale of my handmade cards and craft supplies on my Etsy store  (KarensCraftClosetCo) or my blog www.justletmeink.com
·       Make a tax deductible donation by Going to Karen’s page or Jim’s page,  It doesn’t matter which, and you will see our individual progress.

Appreciate you!!
Love Jim and Karen
